Saturday August 7 at 6:00 am: Riding south over Sardine toward Ogden to a TBD turnaround point, possibly Antelope Island.
I will ride Wednesday night.
ReplyDeleteI hope to ride on Thursday night up Hardware, but there is a little question.
Saturday I need to be in Ogden at 8:00am so if the ride goes up Sardine I will join the first part of it.
How about antelope island on Saturday?
ReplyDeleteI game for any of it. Antelope?? If you are serious Josh I will join.
ReplyDeleteOption two might include a double ride to Brigham and back in the morning and then in the Evening a simple Mtn ride like Sink hollow?
My new 11-28 cassette came in and my bike is at Wimmer's getting that and a new chain installed, along with a tune. Mark wasn't sure he'd have it done for this evening, so I may be out tonight.
ReplyDeleteThursday I'm in for sure for Hardware.
Saturday I'll be down in Springville for a baptism (but will be riding in South Utah County later in the morning if anybody's in that area).
Saturday I am thinking of doing a bigger mtn. bike ride. I was considering going up Lathams Hollow and down Richards Hollow. Last time I did this ride it took approx. 4 hrs.
ReplyDeleteI will ride tonight, I just need to take it easy. So that I have something left for the TT tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteJeremy
So what time would you go at?
ReplyDeleteI am still thinking of antelope. I can't go out later that night, and since I didn't get out last Saturday, feel like I need a long one....
ReplyDeleteWe could all head out together for Brigham, and if peeps want to turn back here. Mike and I can continue on to Ogden....
Jeff Pease had emailed regarding a ride from Montpelier to Afton and I suggested Mink Creek park to Salt River Pass and back.
ReplyDeleteI think that it is 127 miles 127 miles round trip.
I know Jeff was going to try rounding up another couple of people.
The plan is to leave Mink Creek park around 6:30 AM.
Food stops will be in Montpelier both directions. Water can be obtained at the Alred Flats Campground
My cell # is 435 213 5588 if you have any questions, or want to car pool up to Preston.

We're tentatively planning a ride next Saturday (8/14) from Montpelier to Afton and back. Mike has volunteered to drive us to Montpelier if I remember correctly.
ReplyDeleteTomorrow Rex, Mike, Josh and I will be riding south over Sardine toward Ogden and other points south. We're starting at 6:00 am. Mike and I have family events later that day in that direction. That leaves Rex and Josh (and whoever else joins) to grapple with where to turn around exactly. I hear the Antelope are frolicking this time of year...
Tomorrow I'll meet the group at Ted's along Highway 89 in Nibley. I'll be there shortly after 6.
ReplyDeleteAfter leaving the team in Brigham City, I finished my training ride later that afternoon:

I rode from Mapleton to the top elevation (or as near as I could tell) of the Nebo Loop road. From Payson it's a 17 mile climb at an 8-12% grade. I topped out at 8450 feet! It was painful and I can't say I made it to the top without stopping. However, it was cloudy and traffic wasn't too bad. It certainly beat fighting the monsoon winds down on the valley floor.
The decent wasn't much fun as the road is twisty-turney affair. My knuckles were white from braking around the hairpin turns, avoiding the expressway down the mountainside.
Someday I'd like to ride the full loop over to Nephi Canyon.
