Early Bird Gets the Worm

I don't know if it was the warm temperatures or the fact that I bought an Ebike... and I feel like I'm spinning my wheels but I have a good friend on Dailymile that would like to go out soon.

"I want to Ride my Bicylce"... as Rex put it on facebook. If you are up for a Saturday road ride.. around the valley (Weather and road conditions permitting of course.) I want get out and ride my gut off!

Give me call 435-770-1341 or comment on the board. Let's plan on meeting at our usual hitching post(The Logan Aquatic Center) and Head North. I think if we stick to a valley route we would have better sunlight and road conditions.

I'm up for any route though. Purpose of the ride is to have fun so let's keep it casual. If we can't chat with each other we are going too fast!

Time to Register for Saints to Sinners

Saints to Sinners

Looks like we have enough interest for two 5-person teams. The first five to sign up will take the name Team RYGO. The other five will be named Team GYRO (RYGO's evil dyslexic twin) or the more bland Team RYGO2 (actual members can decide). We can certainly add a third (Team ORYG?) if interest is there. There will be friendly competition between the teams, so negotiate and recruit wisely!

$750 per 5 person team
Cost per rider: $150

The deadline for supplying your individual funds for the Team RYGO 5 person team is Monday March 21.
The deadline for supplying your individual funds for the Team GYRO 5 person team is Friday April 1.

First come, first served! Team members need not be affiliated with Team RYGO. We are not sexist, females also welcome. I (Matt) am officially on the StoS Team RYGO, fundage allocated!

Since registration is by team, I'll be happy to handle the fund gathering and registration for Team RYGO. I'll also do this for Team GYRO unless someone else would like to step up to the plate. You can pay me personally (by check) or by PayPal (PayPal account: symetriic@gmail.com. Please accept any transaction fees yourself!).

LOTOJA registration is coming in April, so budget accordingly!

Saturday Ride

I'm planning a ride tomorrow... Looks like good weather. Anyone willing to brave the cooler temps give me a call. I'm not sure of the route probably south towards Hyrum Dam from my place then Back North, hoping to put in 40 miles depending on how long the piggies stay warm. I'm willing to modify the loop for anyone wanting to join up north of me.

Tour de St. George Spring 2011

I have been searching for information regarding the spring tour. They are in the process of remaking the website so there is no information on the website regarding the tour. I emailed them and they said the tour will be held April 9, 2011. This is a little later than they have done in the past but might provide better weather than last year.

You can register here:

http://www.active.com/cycling/st-george-ut/tour-de-st-george-spring-2011?int=29-6

The cost is $69 for the full Century lunch is provided, Sag is provided, 5 rest stops a long the way. BYOWB. (Bring your own water bottle.)

So keep that cardio going through the winter and join me on April 9th.

Saints to Sinners Relay

Registration is now open for the Saints to Sinners relay race. The race takes place on July 30-31. As the name implies, this course starts in SLC, travels through rural and scenic Utah/Arizon and ends in the Las Vegas valley.

There are 30 legs divided between 5 or 10 member teams (my math says 3 or 6 legs per racer). The legs vary in length and elevation.

Registration fee for the Saints to Sinners Bike Relay 2011 is $1,250.00 per 10 person team ($125 person), $750.00 per 5 person team ($150 per person). A portion of all proceeds will go toward researching a cure for ALS – Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

Visit the site for more info...

Personally I'd prefer a 5 racer team, so if we have more than 5 that want to race, let's try and get two 5 racer teams going. If we come up short on the second team, I'm sure we can recruit others in the local biking scene or place an ad.

So who's in? Leave a comment with your commitment or questions...

After Dark Ride

Green Canyon Friday 7:30pm Rex's House or 8:00pm at Green Canyon Mtn bike ride Make sure you bring you light and this is a nice trail that even the Huffy Mtn bike could handle and do really fun. October 22

Wear your orange because the hunters are getting ready for the early morning deer hunt. They should have enough alcohol in their system to where bike handle bars look like deer antlers. They may want to get an early start.
